Gesture Recognition for Civic Engagement

The Connective's role:

Catalyze

Project details:

Of the many challenges to civic engagement, the need for additional data led to a solution to increase the response rate from residents & visitors via live qualitative feedback at events, programs, or places where standard communication channels aren't present. The initiative is set to increase response rates through quick, gesture-based micro surveys that allow passersby or attendees to respond to quick yes/no or multiple-choice questions via a physical movement, like a hand gesture, facial expression, or body movement. The goal is to eliminate barriers to entry for survey responses through intuitive, physically engaging experiences. Current use cases apply to economic development, parks and recreation, events, and engagement around policies and public issues.
