Digital Twin

Municipal Infrastructure Optimization

The Connective's role:

Catalyze, Implement, Educate

Project details:

The Connective is spearheading efforts to integrate digital twin technology across a variety of urban contexts to enhance infrastructure management and regional planning. Digital twins provide virtual replicas of physical environments to optimize decision-making and resource allocation. Key projects and applications include:

  • Heat Mitigation: Creating digital twins to monitor and analyze heat-related challenges, helping cities implement strategies to reduce urban heat islands.

  • Affordable Housing in Phoenix: Collaborating with the Phoenix Community Alliance to use digital twins for planning and evaluating affordable housing projects, ensuring scalability and impact.

  • Airport Operations: Exploring digital twin applications at Sky Harbor Airport, including real-time operational monitoring and predictive analytics for improved airport management.

  • Regional Standards Development: Facilitating dialogue among municipalities to establish regional standards for digital twins, ensuring interoperability and scalable solutions.

  • Economic Development in Surprise: Developing a digital twin for the Surprise City Center, integrating AI and economic development features to support growth and strategic planning.

  • Water Management: Partnering with Phoenix to explore digital twin applications for water retention and recycling, addressing sustainability goals.

  • Downtown Core Modeling: Working with CyberCity 3D to create cost-effective digital twins of downtown areas, enabling cities to start with scalable pilots that can grow with further investments.

These efforts ensure that cities leverage digital twins to address diverse challenges, from heat mitigation and water management to urban development and transportation planning. The Connective supports cities in developing roadmaps for these technologies, ensuring interoperability and long-term scalability.
